The Geremi D. Brooks (GDB)Youth Empowerment Fund

The GDB Youth Empowerment Fund was launched in memory of Geremi D. Brooks. It is a mentorship-based initiative that empowers youth and young adults by addressing educational, economic, and personal development barriers that limit long-term success. Through structured mentoring relationships, participants receive consistent guidance, encouragement, and accountability from caring adults committed to their growth. The program provides access to academic support, life-skills coaching, and leadership development, along with practical education in financial literacy, workforce readiness, and career or college planning.

A core component of the program is its focus on entrepreneurship and economic empowerment. Participants receive exposure to business fundamentals, goal-setting, and problem-solving skills, as well as access to entrepreneurial scholarships and micro-funding support to pursue post-secondary education, vocational training, or business ventures. Wraparound support ensures youth are not only equipped with resources, but also supported in navigating challenges and making informed decisions.

By combining mentorship, education, and targeted financial support, the Geremi D. Brooks Youth Empowerment Fund helps youth build confidence, resilience, and pathways toward sustainable independence and positive community leadership.
